En esta revisión se estudiará la maternidad adolescente, su asociación con la conducta maternal adulta y sus funciones ejecutivas. Este trabajo con el objetivo de reconocer los conceptos que comprenden la maternidad adolescente. Las funciones ejecutivas aún están madurando durante la adolescencia, por lo que, en comparación con las madres adultas, las madres adolescentes muestran menor sensibilidad materna. En esta revisión se presta especial atención a los procesos de cuidado y de memoria de trabajo, ya que son funciones ejecutivas determinantes de la conducta maternal que han sido poco estudiadas en madres adolescentes.
